Inez Jasper was born on May 19, 1981 and raised in Sto:lo Territory on the Skowkale Reserve near Chilliwack, B.C. She
was born to a Sto:lo/Musqueum father and a Annishnabe/Metis mother.
Both sides of Inez's family have strong musical roots, one in traditional Sto:lo singing and the other in Metis fiddling
and dancing. At the age of three, she began Kodai and Suzuki violin until the age of 6.
Inez was involved in band and choir throughout school. She was a select member of the Jazz Choir at Chilliwack Senior
School and performed various solos.
In her second year at UBC, she recorded her first single titled, "Sto:lo Strong" with help from the KAYA group, D'arcy,
& Manik.
Her single will debut on the "KAYA mixtape" CD, released on Dec. 7th at the Sonar party.
Inez will graduate April 2005 with her Bachelor in Science of Nursing, RN from the University of British Columbia. Afterwards,
she plans to work as an RN and pursue a career in music.
